The American Rhododendron Society was kind enough to donate a large variety of rhododendron, trees, and&nbsp;other plants to be used in the gardens. The Orleans Tree Department traditionally completes a planting project for Arbor Day as&nbsp;a member of Tree City USA. &nbsp;The project was led by town Tree Warden Dan Connolly and AmeriCorps Cape Cod Individual Placement Derek Brudahl (placed with both OCT and the town Tree Department).<\/p>\n<p>AmeriCorps Cape Cod members spent the day planting, weeding, and mulching the area to ensure that the plants have everything they need to thrive and grow.&nbsp; This public space is intended for the community to enjoy nature while also enjoying a good book.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>While AmeriCorps volunteers were helping plant and take care of the trees, a small group of volunteers went with the Orleans Conservation Trust to replace a bench at Boland Pond Pocket Park on Route 6A.<\/p>\n<p>For some background information about Arbor Day, please click here:&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.treemusketeers.net\/arbor-day\/\">https:\/\/www.treemusketeers.net\/arbor-day\/<\/a><\/p>\nngg_shortcode_0_placeholder\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This Arbor Day, AmeriCorps Cape Cod partnered up with the Orleans Tree Department and OCT to do a series of plantings at the Snow Library in Orleans.
